David Ogilvy on Copywriting →
youmightfindyourself:
April 19, 1955 Dear Mr. Calt: On March 22nd you wrote to me asking for some notes on my work habits as a copywriter. They are appalling, as you are about to see: 1. I have never written an advertisement in the office. Too many interruptions. I do all my writing at home. 2. I spend a long time studying the precedents. I look at every advertisement which has appeared for...

Uh Oh... New Obsession Alert
My roommate invited me to pinterest because we were talking about it in the living room. I’m already obsessed. At least I only have work to worry about now. It feels weird not going back to school next week. Oh well, I’m ready to start the next chapter!

Fashion, and Quite Possibly Marc Jacobs, Will...
I read the best article on Marc Jacobs in the January issue of Vogue today. Marc Jacobs has always fascinated me. My fashion class last year showed the documentary on him that talked about him and his work on his own fashion lines along with his work at Louis Vuitton. I keep up with his runway shows through blogs and twitter. I wear the Daisy Eau So Fresh perfume (it smells amazing, btw. -...

I just turned in the last assignment of my undergrad career. It hasn’t hit me yet. I’ve done a lot of work over the last few years and now I don’t have to do anymore. Maybe I’m going through the first stage of the grieving process… Oh who am I kidding? I’m ecstatic. No really, I am.
Stay tuned the next episode: Brittany graduates! When she actually walks...

Why Instagram is so popular →
youmightfindyourself:
It might seem trivial, but showing one photo at a time is a design decision that creates more value for each image, and enhances your viewing experience. Plus it doesn’t hurt to have the images trapped inside a beautiful iPhone screen. It almost doesn’t matter who you follow—their photos probably look better one at a time. From a UX perspective, we keep learning that...

If I wasn’t on call tonight I’d probably be out with my friends. I’m only young once, and it’s best to do what I want now before all of my responsibilities take over.

New Adventures in Present Endeavors
I have some good news this week! I got the word yesterday that I am going to be the new photo editor for Scene B Seen. I’m super excited about it. Look for my posts coming up!
P.S. I promise if there is a photo shoot that involves sequins, I will be on it like butter is on toast.
P.P.S. This news means that I have to change my resume. AGAIN. At least I got the news before the career...

I’m seriously contemplating doing another blog for the fun of it. I feel like I imagine some of the things that happen in my life, while other times things just happen. Satire seems to be my thing lately so I’m thinking I’ll work on it. Look for Brittany Does Norman, coming soon to a computer screen near you.

philosophy, bullshit.
plottingrevenge:
only the present exists.
the past is simply a present memory of what happened.
the future is simply an anticipation of what will be the present.
whoever taught us that the past, present, and future were the three periods of time was WRONG.
